FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New International Person of Leather Named in February!

Las Vegas, Nevada – February 6, 2016 – The beginning of February saw Shahrazad, Ms. Toronto Leather 2016 and an independent contestant from Canada, sashed as the 2016 International Person of Leather. Highlights of the contest this year were some extremely hot fantasies by each of the contestants, as well as some very thought-provoking speeches. First Runner Up was Ms. Donna, Southwest Person of Leather 2015.

What are the new International Person of Leather’s plans for her title year? In the speech component of the contest, Shahrazad posited that “each facet or subgroup within our leather tribe carries an archetypal energy that we can all learn from, despite the fact that we may not be ‘into’ every gender or fetish or SM practice.” She is about to build on this platform of respect and honor for leather diversity with a project that seeks to ask the question “what is it that YOU teach our leather tribe, by virtue of simply being you?” Through her travels this year, she will be collecting answers from a wide diversity of leather, kink, and fetish oriented individuals, and will compile the results to share with the community at large at the end of her title year.

When asked why she applied as an independent contestant to this year’s contest, Shahrazad replied, “The International Person of Leather title resonates with me at a core level because of the deep respect and acceptance that it stands for in our community. The powerful message that sexual and personal diversities are valued and encouraged is one that speaks volumes to my personal experience as a person of leather who does not neatly fit into a “box”.”

Mr. Andrew Love, Co-Founder of the International Person of Leather Contest said, “What a contest! So many extremely qualified contestants! It’s great to see so much excitement about the contest. Congratulations to Shahrazad, well fought and won.”

Mr. Andrew Love, Co-Founder of the International Person of Leather Contest said, “I was really moved by the speeches, it was clear to me that the contestants really understood the vision and intent we the Co-Founders set forth in establishing this new contest.  I was also touched by the support of the audience and their personal comments on what it means to them to see Person of Leather come to be.”

Co-Founder of the International Person of Leather Contest, slave Jazz, was excited by the diversity reflected in this year’s five contestants, “we had the Southeast Person of Leather 2015, Autumn, the Heartland Person of Leather 2015, slave adeena, the Rocky Mountain Person of Leather 2015, Ikon, the Southwest Person of Leather 2015, Ms. Donna, and Sharazad, Ms. Toronto Leather 2016 all competing on one stage this year. Next year, it looks like we’ll have contestants from our new Northwest Person of Leather and at LEAST one new Canadian region, if not two. It’s tremendous to see the excitement for this contest, born of a desire to celebrate our diversity rather than limit ourselves by it, spread like wildfire!”

The International Person of Leather Contest was founded by Executive Producers Mr. Andrew Love, Master Tallen, and slave Jazz to celebrate an individual in the leather community who promotes diversity and strengthens leather culture as a mentor/educator/individual and spokesperson throughout that person’s title year. Persons of all gender identities and sexual orientations compete against each other for one title, with the stress of this contest being on dedication to one’s community above and beyond any external categorization.

Rocky Mountain Regional Contest Held

posted Aug 26, 2014, 2:10 PM by Andrew Love   [ updated Aug 26, 2014, 2:10 PM ]

Saturday, August 16th, saw the naming of the first-ever Rocky Mountain Person of Leather, Simon/Alexandria Blaise. The Rocky Mountain Person of Leather Contest will forever be significant as the first regional feeder contest to the newly created International Person of Leather Contest, which will be held at Sin in the City in Las Vegas, NV on February 27 through March 1, 2015. Highlights of the contest were Blaise’s sexy and fiery fantasy which took on
religious iconography and stood in stark contrast to a hysterical, fast-paced and fun fantasy of the first runner-up, John G (which perverted the William Tell Overture in all of our minds forever). Also especially notable were a moving speech about the need of the Leather community to evolve with time delivered by Blaise and John G’s words about the importance of contributing to one’s community.

What are the plans for Rocky Mountain’s first Person of Leather? To quote Simon, “Alexandria Blaise and I were given the historical responsibility and privilege to serve as Rocky Mountain Person of Leather 2014. Alexandria and I plan to do all we can to serve our Leather community by presenting classes, sharing our story, and being an example that inspires others to live authentically while supporting others who do the same.”

Mr. Andrew Love, Producer of Rocky Mountain Rebellion and Co-Founder of the International Person of Leather Contest said, “We as a community often find ourselves looking to celebrate our differences. The Rocky Mountain Person of Leather competition ushers in a new era in Leather Competitions where we can celebrate our diversity by focusing on what bring us all together. We are excited to be part of the new Person of Leather circuit and look forward to the International Person of Leather competition. We congratulation Simon/Alexandria Blaise on winning the title of Rocky Mountain Person of Leather.”
